Universal Studios has decided not to release movies on the Blu-Ray format

Universal Studios has decided not to release movies on the Blu-Ray format.
This comes according to a spokeswoman representing the Blu-Ray Disc Association.
This report follows the president of Universal Studios Home Entertainment Craig Kornblau quoted saying, “Look at the blogs, look at the reviews by the early adopters and even look at the mainstream media — HD DVD has maintained its first-to-market advantage and delivered on the promises of providing the best high definition image and sound quality at the best value for consumers today,” Kornblau said.
This cannot be good news for Sony as a major movie studio now seems to be jumping ship to the HD-DVD format.

NASA has postponed the landing of the shuttle Atlantis

NASA has postponed the landing of the shuttle Atlantis.
NASA postponed the return of the space shuttle Atlantis for at least a day after a small mysterious object appeared falling off of the ship in orbit on Tuesday.
This raised fears that the spaceship may not be able to make it safely back home.
Space agency officials need extra time to determine what it was that fell off and how important it was to the landing of Atlantis.
“The question is: What is it? Is it something benign? … Or is it something more critical we should pay attention to?” said Wayne Hale, space shuttle program manager. “We want to make sure we’re safe to land before we commit to that rather incredible journey through the Earth’s atmosphere.”
This incident came at the end of a flawless mission thus far for the start of the re-construction of the International Space Station. This was the first time work had been done since the Columbia tragedy 3 and a half years ago.

The shuttle Atlantis, after many delays, took off and docked safely with the International Space Station on Monday morning

The shuttle Atlantis, after many delays, took off and docked safely with the International Space Station on Monday morning.
At 6:48am Capt. Brent W. Jett Jr. guided the shuttle toward the station.
This will resume construction of the orbitary laboratory for the first time since the loss of the shuttle Columbia and crew in 2003.
The operation was completed some 218 miles over the eastern Pacific Ocean near the coast of Chile. The last time Atlantis visited the station was way back in October of 2002.
