Ned: Ned... Ryerson. "Needlenose Ned"? "Ned the Head"? C'mon, buddy. Case Western High. I did the whistling belly-button trick at the high school talent show? Bing. Ned Ryerson, got the shingles real bad senior year, almost didn't graduate? Bing, again.

Ned Ryerson, I dated your sister Mary Pat a couple of times until you told me not to anymore? Well?

Phil: Ned Ryerson?

Ned: BING!

Phil: Bing.

Personally, I know - that's probably sounds crazy, but yes, personally I prefer old Kindle 1-st generation... I have Kindle-2 too, but much often I am using my favorite Kindle-1! May be it's just a matter of comfort - first model feels perfectly comfortable in my hands, I like the size and shape and even weight of e-Book Reader. Or may be it's the style - like some scions equipment from mid-eighties, charm totally lost in next generation...
Of course, technically Kindle-2 has been improved: it's lighter, thinner and has a way bigger storage, and as a toll it's better, but as a toy (an adults likes toys also) Kindle-1 is preferable! Again - it's personal. But lot of old-fashion freaks like me will understand what I am trying to say. And at last Kindle-1 is cheaper now!

If new Kindle II is the real deal, it will be too bad. My kindle I is just the right size (bigger would not be better), i like the angled sides, as they fit perfectly with my fingers when holding it to read. I would hate to lose access to the SD card, which i currently keep my own manuscripts on. As for exchanging the AC charger for UBS, that would seem to be a problem if one is traveling.

Personally, I hope its all an urban myth and that Kindle will not scramble a really nice design. Yes, a bit of help to prevent accidental page-turning, and a way to organize one's library using the equivalent of folder would be nice. But bigger, more square, less options, such as loss of external SD card and a charger that require computer access, would not be an improvement in my opinion.

Glad i bought two, so i can ride it out until Kindle 3 comes along.

What a joke! He didn't release this for free out of some deluded sense of philantropy; it was simply because he knew it be an embarrassing financial failure if released theatrically.
